Book Club

The Book Club has been meeting since January, 2003, only missing the month of December, 2005. This means that 39 books have been read and discussed by a group of 7- 12 women every month. The list of books read include religious fiction as well as non-religious books.   The books are generally fiction but have included some non fiction such as Tuesdays With Morrie and Startling Beauty. The books are chosen by the group from suggestions made from different women.   We even read books suggested by some of the men of the congregation.   The group is always open to including new people, from our congregation as well as friends. The book club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 at different homes.   The women usually pick up a cup of coffee or tea when they arrive and then the book is discussed for an hour.   The books chosen often lend themselves to differences of opinion which makes for a   lively discussion. The books can often be taken out of either the church library or a public library.    The group usually chooses books several months ahead so everyone has a chance to read them. All women of the church and community are invited to join us at 7:30 p.m.

The schedule for the next few months is as follows:

March 13         Girl Meets God by Lauren Winner

April 10            Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

June 12            Digging to America by Anne Tyler
