The
Bulletin for May 11, 2008
TODAY'S
WORSHIP AT SOUTH GRANDVILLE
This morning's message combines the message of Pentecost
with our sermon series on becoming the kind of church we're meant
to be. Using Galatians 5:16-26 as the text, we will explore how
a healthy congregation needs to be sensitive to the Spirit's leading.
During the morning service we'll be celebrating the sacrament
of the Lord's Supper. Visitors who love the Lord and belong to
another church family are invited and encouraged to participate
in this sacrament.
Today we also give heartfelt thanks to
the Lord for the mothers He has given us.
Our morning offerings are for the General Fund and a special
offering for the South Grandville Summer Work Project.
Our worship service this evening will be held in Friendship
Hall and will include a special time of prayer for needs in our
local and church community, for work and farming, and for our
nation and world. Our praying takes place in a world that comes
from the creative hand of God and loudly proclaims his handiwork.
What's more, creation is entering a new growing season in the
northern hemisphere. Our springtime prayers remind us to be very
conscious of our surroundings in God's creation and of the needs
throughout our community and world.
Our evening offering is for Dordt College
.
NEXT
WEEK'S WORSHIP AT SOUTH GRANDVILLE
Next Sunday morning Pastor Dan will conclude
the six-part sermon series, “All We're Meant To Be.” This last
message will help us focus on finding places for our church to
be “engaged” in the world, and to demonstrate the love of Jesus
to a world full of people who need that love.
During our evening service, Pastor Dan's message will come
from Isaiah 55. We will also enjoy the music of a guest organist,
Mr. Stan Blum.
Next week's offerings will be for the General Fund and the
South Grandville Baby Supply Pantry in the morning, and for Kids
Hope USA in the evening.
